In 2005, the Missouri Park & Recreation Association opened a two-level 51,170 square foot recreational center for families in Springfield,Mo. -- Chesterfield Recreational Family Center. After installing traditional coat rack systems, Kate Plank,Community RecreationServices Administrator complained, "We kept putting up these coat racks and were replacing them constantly." Chesterfield Family Center was determined to find a new system that would eliminate maintenance worries and costs.
In addition to avoiding maintenance hassles,Chesterfield Family Center turned to
HangSafe to provide the safest environment for school age children in high activity areas. HangSafe could also provide storage spaces for facility users and employees.

Details and Design:
Coat hooks were needed in a variety of facility areas: indoor pool area, gymnasium,
running track,weight room, lifeguard storage room/office, a party room and a building entryway.While the facility serves all ages, the safety of children ages 4-12 in highly active areas were especially taken into consideration. The rec center staff considered the amount of equipment needing to be stored in the lifeguard storage room. Wall type and moisture levels in specific areas were also considered.

Delivery:

The durable materials and design provide the ability to hold wet towels and gym bags/coats simultaneously. The HangSafe Rack is manufactured with:
- Individual hooks which are made of durable Lexan, a polycarbonate plastic.
- Racks are secured with stainless steel screws.
- Hooks are placed on a polyurethane-finished solid oak mounting board.
- Poolside oak contains an extra coat of polyurethane to withstand moisture.
